Sedum Autumn Joy
Stonecrop
Sedum Autumn Joy has flowerheads, which can grow up to 20cm across, made up of greenish white buds that open to pale pink, star-shaped flowers. They turn rich pink fading to brown as they mature in late summer and autumn. The flowerheads can be left during the winter adding shape and texture to the border. Using the ‘Chelsea chop’ in the last week of May (Chelsea Show week), cutting one or two stems back to the ground will produce plants that are less lush and flower later.
