Primula Viallii is a perennial with rosettes of soft downy leaves, and dense heads of small tubular, lilac-blue flowers in late spring and early summer. The flowers are also very fragrant, with a sweet scent that attracts bees and other pollinators. Flowers from May to June, it can be planted in full sun or partial shade.

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.
