Vinca minor

Lesser Periwinkle.     

Vinca minor, a mat-forming evergreen shrub with trailing stems of dark green leaves, has violet-blue flowers produced from mid-spring to autumn, flowering from April to September, it grows 10 cm, and has an indefinite spread. Vinca minor is a versatile plant, it is commonly used as a ground cover plant to control erosion, suppress weeds, and provide a lush, green carpet under trees or in shady areas.
